Who are FARMTRAC?

 

Well, they are made by Escorts Kubota Limited formerly Escorts Limited an Indian multinational conglomerate. The company was founded in 1944 and sells tractors in over 40 Countries. The first tractors were based on Ursus tractor designs. Then in 1969 the Ford motor company entered into a joint partnership with Escorts to produce licensed Ford tractors for India. The tractors made by Escorts were rebranded FARMTRAC. This partnership lasted right up to the sale of Ford tractor operations to Fiat (New Holland). In the year 2000 Escorts bought a European tractor factory. This enabled the company to make a new bigger tractor line with cabs. Recently the Kubota company in Japan purchased the controlling share of Escorts Limited.
